What will I learn?
Our classes focus on both the theory and practical aspects of self-defence.
Open to everyone aged 15 and over, our comprehensive training program teaches skills in de-escalation, boundary-setting, and personal safety. You’ll also develop the physical techniques needed to protect yourself while improving strength, fitness, and confidence.
What does a typical class look like?
Sessions start with a warm-up that also includes simple techniques drills. We then explore de-escalation or boundary-setting together as a group before practising in pairs. Each class also includes a physical skill, such as striking or floor escapes, and finishes by bringing everything together in a live scenario drill, always at a level you feel comfortable with. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace, and nothing is compulsory.
Community
Train with people from your local Brixton community in a safe, welcoming club.
Self-defence can be a challenging subject, so we keep sessions light and fun while providing realistic guidance on real-life non-consensual violence. Our classes give you the tools and confidence to better manage threats in everyday situations.
I’m nervous about joining on my own - will I feel comfortable?
Yes. Most people come to class on their own, and creating a safe, welcoming atmosphere is central to how we teach. Sessions are supportive, respectful, and always handled with care.
